Jamaican Breakfast

We had a hankering for Trinidadian doubles this morning. I guess Mr. Google is not too familiar with different ethnic specialties, so we ended up at a Jamaican restaurant where we stayed for a Jamaican breakfast. Take a look at the photo and process this: yes, this was breakfast. Best oxtail stew and chicken curry. Not our typical breakfast fare, but we were totally rewarded for not being rigid with our choices.

It was quite early Sunday before noon, and the Krazy Jerk restaurant was still empty (I assumed families were coming after church), and everything was super fresh. Both the oxtail stew and chicken curry were absolutely delicious: spicy (but not mouth burning) and very flavourful. The other buffet choices were: rice and peas, stewed dumplings and bananas, fish, stewed cabbage, fried plantains, fried buns (!), yummy and unique chicken soup, and fruits.

We definitely must explore the 17 Avenue (International Avenue) some more. There are so many interesting, small food places there that seem authentic.
